Pau Pyrenees Airport is owned by the Syndicat Mixte of Pau Pyrénées Airport which includes the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, the Pyrénées-Atlantiques Department, the Pau Béarn Pyrenees Urban Community, the communities of communes of Lacq Orthez, Haut Béarn, Pays de Nay, Luys en Béarn, North-East Béarn, Béarn des Gaves and Ossau Valley.
It is managed as part of a public service delegation by the Air'Py group, composed of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Pau Béarn (51%) and Egis Airport Operation (49%).
Serving the 3rd economic pole of South-West France, Pau Pyrénées Airport is a gateway to a territory that includes Béarn, southern Landes, south-western Gers and Bigorre.
With Bordeaux and Toulouse, Pau Pyrénées Airport is one of three airports in south-western France equipped with an all-weather landing system (ILS CAT III).
The airport is located in the heart of an activity zone that combines civil and military activities, with the presence of some 500 companies and 4,000 jobs in many sectors, particularly aeronautics, logistics and services.
Pau Pyrénées airport welcomed 345,603 passengers in 2023. Transavia offers one daily flight to Paris Orly. Air France operates 3 to 4 daily flights to Paris Charles-de-Gaulle. Finally, Twin Jet operates 2 to 3 daily flights to Lyon from Monday to Friday.
The airport is mainly frequented by business customers, particularly related to large companies in the region that are among the European leaders in their fields (geosciences, aeronautics, agri-food, chemistry and materials, etc.). Business travel accounts for more than half of its traffic. It also welcomes a leisure and tourism clientele that represents an important development potential.
